Meet the Course Leader - Andy Burrows

Hey there!

My name’s Andy.

I’m really pleased to offer you the opportunity to join me for this program. Why?

Because it will give you some foundational behavioural skills – stuff that really makes a difference, not just at work, but in your life and in your career.

There’s no calculators or spreadsheets needed for any of this stuff, but it will transform your career.

But what I particularly love is that it’s designed and delivered by a Finance person (i.e. me) for Finance people!

Don’t get me wrong. Learning from leadership trainers is great. That’s where I learnt all this stuff in the first place!

The trouble is you don’t normally get sent on leadership training until you’re already a leader...

That seems insane to me! You need to learn all of this early in your career. It makes you more effective in everything, and makes you ready for leadership when the time comes. You don’t have to already have a team to learn any of these foundations.

I didn’t have that opportunity. I qualified as a chartered accountant, and then within four years I was a Finance Director with a team of nearly 50 people! It was almost straight in at the deep end with management and leadership.

Six years after that I was working as a senior manager in Finance in a very large company. They sent me on a leadership program... and I came away amazed by what I’d learnt and how much I’d grown in 2 days. But I also saw that a lot of the things I was taught would have been so helpful and foundational much earlier in my career, even before I was in senior leadership.

So, that’s my mission now, with this program. To give you the opportunity to learn these revolutionary and foundational things, whether you’re a 23-year-old Financial Analyst or a 43-year-old CFO!

Finance technical skills only get you to the starting line!

Numbers are not the hardest part of working in Finance.
